How to avoid getting cut by the Bills in 2018

NFL players, coaches and front office execs all agreed to an interview with the Inquirer for an article about the Bills and the 2018 season.

Here is what we learned.1.

The Bills will have to replace the coaching staff2.

The staff will be comprised of former head coaches and offensive coordinators.

The offensive coordinator position is open.3.

Bills defensive backs coach Darryl Slater will have an opportunity to replace Darryll Slater as head coach.4.

The team is expected to hire a new head coach in the next couple weeks.5.

The defensive backs coaching staff is expected be led by defensive backs coordinator/secondary coach Keith Butler.6.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane will have a chance to replace Don Shula.7.

The defense will be coached by former Bills assistant defensive backs/special teams coordinator Mike Mularkey.8.

Beane and general manager Buddy Nix are expected to interview for head coaching openings.9.

The linebackers coaching staff will likely be led at some point by defensive coordinator Chris Brown.10.

Bills wide receivers coach Anthony Steen will have more responsibility at wide receivers.11.

The special teams will be led, at least at first, by special teams coordinator/special teamer Mark Sanchez.12.

The coaching staff may also be led and assisted by former linebackers coach Jeff Tedford.13.

The wide receivers coaching staff might be led under former receivers coach Brian Hoyer.14.

The running backs coach will have the opportunity to fill in for interim coach Jeff Tuel.15.
