MAMI BEACH, Fla.
(AP) Hairdressers Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County will shutter their businesses and cease paying rent to their owners.
They filed a motion Friday to have the properties shuttered and the owners removed from the state’s tax rolls, which is currently in limbo.
The move comes after Miami-Dire Straits’ owner, Mike Gorman, filed a lawsuit last month alleging he owes more than $5 million to the state for unpaid rent.
A judge is expected to rule on the case next week.
